Ghost of the Ghoul Goes West, pt. 2

A little more hair, subtly backlit eyes, and a cheesy application of sepia tone and 'film grain' to pretend we're watching in 1931...

He needs a little more refining, especially programming his jaw to close/reset more fluidly -- at the moment he looks like he's chewing something as he speaks.

I keep trying.

Onward.

  1. What a great job you've done, Mike!

I know it may be hard to believe, because you have in your mind a certain vision of how it should look and behave, and it may not be matching with what you see before you. For someone who hasn't done animatronics and considers animatronics to be as foreign a language as Japanese, it looks fantastic!

  2. Thank you kindly Shell. I think he'll be really cool once I get his body going too, and by the time he's addressing the Museum crowds at Monsterpalooza I should have all the kinks worked out.

I'm having a BALL on this project!

  3. He is looking good. I see what you mean by the chewing comment. There is a small amount of jaw clacking, but you'll get that cleaned up. The head eyes and eyebrows are working well. And the glasses are right on the money
Going with a tux like Edward VanSloan wore?

  4. Thanks Fester! Going with a tux, but not exactly like the original. I'm going for a 'just came out of the ground' look, but he'll have the flower and the footlighting. I may have bitten off more than, etc., etc. But I'm enjoying it!

  5. If there is one thing about you I think I've figured out is: you'll pull it off on schedule, and it will be a hit.
