At midnight, August 12th 1969, the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland opened to the press for the very first time.Oh, it had been open to the general Disneyland-going public since the 9th, but its official opening was forty years ago this very midnight.
All hail the greatest dark ride ever conceived and built! Raise a glass, toast the splendor that is Disney's Haunted Mansion!
