It was 40 years ago today...

At midnight, August 12th 1969, the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland opened to the press for the very first time.
Oh, it had been open to the general Disneyland-going public since the 9th, but its official opening was forty years ago this very midnight.
All hail the greatest dark ride ever conceived and built! Raise a glass, toast the splendor that is Disney's Haunted Mansion!
How shall I ever repay your greatness and influence on my life? Well...
How about a stereo, binaural (it sounds like you're really there!) ride through of the entire attraction in the Skull & Pumpkin jukebox?
Yeah... feels right.
Plug in your headphones, select the last track in the jukebox (HMansion Stereo Ride), and listen to the entire ride in unliving stereo.

Mssrs. Atencio, Coates, Davis, et al... thank you for everything. Forever.

"Hurry baaaack... hurry baaaaaaack... be sure to bring your death certificate... if you decide to join us... make final arrangements now... we've been dying to have you, hehehe."

I'll always hurry back.

999 Happy Haunts can't be wrong.
